STS Football Fitness Programmes Train You for Your Fitness Level

As a footballer, you don't need to be running laps of the park to improve your football endurance.

You're far better off performing repeated runs at 70-100% with stationary, walking or jogging recoveries.

Knowing just how hard to run and how much recovery to allow can be tough, especially for the coach. Run too fast with insufficient recoveries and the set will not last long enough, running technique will go out the window.  Run too slow with excessive recoveries and the set will not ellicit the desired gains.

STS Speed Interval Plans for Football are designed for the specific intensities, distances and movements of Football. Each set takes the individual athlete's ability into account so the workouts are achievable and the benefits are perfectly suited to goals.

This is a short clip from a set of 12 reps with 12 secs to run each athlete's distance followed by 36 secs to cover the same distance before repeating.

Two turns make the fasts hard work but offer relatively long recoveries. Great for any team sport athlete or referee.
